About the Artist

After an exciting and fulfilling career of nearly 50 years in emergency medicine, I discovered a new calling through art. After my graduation from Columbia University, I earned both medical and law degrees with honors in 1970 from the University of Louisville while serving as a captain in the United States Army Reserve Medical Corps. As an early leader in emergency medicine, I served on the Board of the American College of Emergency Physicians and was a founding member of TeamHealth.

My artistic journey began unexpectedly in 2016 following a life-changing brain and spinal cord injury. During my rehabilitation at Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, I was introduced to art therapy and discovered its remarkable ability to heal, communicate, and inspire.

My work explores abstract expression through luminous color, rich texture, and rhythmic movement, forming compositions that invite personal interpretation and emotional connection. It is rooted in my belief that art can heal the mind, body, and spirit—bringing comfort, hope, and connection to those who encounter it.

Today, my paintings are displayed in hospitals and medical offices throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, where they reflect resilience and the transformative power of healing through art.
